Mother's Day weekend - A Pink Post

I am a little out of order in my posts.  On the same day as the wedding I posted about earlier this week, we had our annual Mother's day gathering at my Aunt Gayle's house in Crockett.

This year was also a special year.  About six years ago, Aunt Gayle was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through months of chemotherapy in an effort to "kill" it.  Well, kill it she did.  This day was special in that she was celebrating her 5 year mark of being cancer FREE! As part of the celebration, we hung pink toole on the clothesline to form a backdrop and took pictures with all the "ta-ta's" that were there!

Saturday was also her and her husband, "Papaw Bill"'s 6th wedding anniversary.

We had a great time eating hot dogs, chips, dips and peach cobbler with ice cream for dessert.  Here are a few more random pictures from the day:

My lovable little one!

he enjoyed this popsicle a little TOO much!

Love this pic!

Lucas was sick with a stomach bug all day, so he stayed with Nana and Papaw to rest and hopefully not expose anyone else to the virus.  WE sure missed him, though!  As the day went on, I realized that Lucas had a stomach virus LAST mother's day also.  See this pic?  Notice the grimaced look on his face. RIGHT as the shutter closed, he said, "Daddy I have to FROWED UP!" And out it came! Here's to hoping that NEXT mother's day we will be FROW-up free!
